I was baptized as a Catholic at birth and has just been attending Christian Born Again services for almost 4 years now; but I come and go. I would still attend Catholic Masses, go to Christian Worships but my faith stayed stationary. In other words, my relationship with God wasn't growing or getting any stronger. I would only remember Him when storms or little bumps on the road come but would instantly forget about Him right when everything's smooth sailing again.
This December though, I had the biggest storm of my life, which I believe is my turning point. As a college student, I shifted from one course to another uncertain of what my interests are and what I really want to be in the future. I've always been fond of media, communication arts or anything of that sort but also aspired to become a Doctor at the back of my head. During my first year, I took up a double degree course (AB Psychology and BS Advertising) thinking I could make up the decision as I go on with college. During my 3rd term of first year, I was encouraged to take up Medicine by my Mom and was inspired by the stories of other people. I then decided to shift to BS Psychology during my 2nd term of my 2nd year. It was hard as I struggled with the tedious killer subjects alone without having any blockmates to support me or ask help from. I failed 2 subjects which I can't imagine taking up again! I just basically gave up on my Medicine dream. Besides my academics crumbling down, my relationships with my parents and this guy were going the down the drain as well. It affected me physically, emotionally and spiritually. I felt helpless and had nowhere to go to nor anyone to hold on to. I knew I had to move on... but I thought, "where do I go from here?"
But God was good and He blessed me with so much people who helped me find my way to Him :) One was my cousin, Joseph Lucas who patiently ministered to me and encouraged me to read the Bible and Louie Yao who invited me to Victory Malate where I found a Christian family that spurs and continually prays for me :) They were full of passion and so ignited with the love of Christ! And right then and there, I realized that I want to have that kind of relationship they have with God!
My turning point started with my blog series of how I coped up with my heartbreak:
Ever since my renewed faith, God has been blessing me with so much! I just recently shifted to a new course which I prayed hard for. He sparked a new hope in me. He gave me a new course which I'm more motivated and inspired to pursue! :)
This time, I'm more than grateful for what He's done in my life. I was taught of the Salvation and His Grace which really helped strengthen my Christian foundation. It has drastically changed my perspective on life. I can say that it has made me more optimistic and when storms come, I believe that it's only His way of showing His glory.

Luke 6:48-49
They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
John 9:1-3
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

Psalm 91: 1,2, 9-13
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
Being a Christian Born Again is more than a religion. It’s a lifestyle and a perspective for we are born again with Jesus Christ as He resurrected from His death on the Cross for our sins. With His Resurrection, we are born again, free of sin and ready to live a life in gratitude and glory for Him :) It’s important that we seek the truth ourselves. Rely not on your own understanding and trust God! A relationship with God is as real as any relationships we have now. He can be your own bestfriend and Father. You can tell Him anything and there is nothing you can tell Him that will make Him love you any less :)
